หลักการใช้ LIKE AND WOULD LIKE

หลักการใช้ like มีดังนี้
1. ใช้ like + V. ing ในความหมาย to enjoy แปลว่า “ชอบ, สนุก”
ตัวอย่าง
I like walking in the rain.
ผมชอบเดินตากฝน
She likes swimming in the sea.
เธอชอบว่ายน้ำในทะเล
2. ใช้ like + to + verb ในความหมาย to choose; to be in the habit of; to think it right to แปลว่า “เลือก, มีนิสัย, คิดกระทำในสิ่งที่ถูกต้อง”
ตัวอย่าง
I like to get up early every day.
ผมมักจะตื่นนอนแต่เช้าทุกวัน
I heard you talking and I didn’t like to disturb you, so I went away.
ผมได้ยินคุณพูดคุยกัน ผมเองก็ไม่อยากจะรบกวนคุณ จึงหลบไป
3. ใช้ like ในความหมาย want ใน subordinate clauses เช่น if you like, when you like หรือ what you like
ตัวอย่าง
Come when you like.
มาเที่ยวบ้างนะเมื่อคุณอยากจะมา

‘Can I go now ?’ – ‘If you like.’
ผมไปได้หรือยัง เชิญครับ
ส่วน would like มีหลักการใช้ดังนี้
1. ใช้ would like ในความหมาย wish; want แปลว่า “ต้องการ, ปรารถนา” ตามด้วย to + verb
ตัวอย่าง
What would you like to do tomorrow?
คุณอยากจะทำอะไรพรุ่งนี้
Would you like to play tennis with me?
คุณอยากเล่นเทนนิสกับผมไหม
2. ใช้ would like + to have + verb ช่อง 3 เมื่อกล่าวถึงสิ่งที่เราปรารถนาหรืออยากจะทำ แต่ไม่ได้ทำ
ตัวอย่าง
I’d like to have seen his face when he opened the letter.
= I wish I’d seen his face when he opened the letter.
ผมอยากจะเห็นสีหน้าของเขาเมื่อเขาเปิดจดหมายอ่าน
I’d like to have gone to university.
= I wish I’d gone to university.
ผมอยากจะไปเรียนในมหาวิทยาลัย
